Early Life

Ronaldo was born on 5 February 1985, on a small island off the western shores of the country, in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. Ronaldo is the youngest of four children born in José Dinis Aveiro and Maria Dolores dos Santos. He’s been named after one of his dad’s favorite players, Ronald Reagan.

In a modest stone-roofed house overlooking the seaside, Ronaldo grew up in a mostly working-class neighborhood. Ronaldo was introduced to the game by his daddy who worked as a boy’s club team manager.

His early childhood was marked by difficulty since his dad often had too much to drink. Ronaldo’s mother worked as a chef and cleaner so that children may be fed and safeguarded.

His dad died from alcohol-related kidney difficulties in 2005 when Ronaldo was playing for Manchester United, his mother was struggling with breast cancer in 2007. The first for Ronaldo was particularly difficult since he and his dad were close.

The teenage athlete regularly pushed his father into rehabilitation and talked about his drinks. His dad never accepted the offer, however.

Ronaldo was already known as the phenomenon when he was ten years old – a boy who was eating, sleeping, and drinking football. He recounted to the British reporters, “He liked the game so much that he would miss meals or get out of his bedroom window when he was meant to do schoolwork.” Fernao Sousa recalled, “He wanted all he had as a child to do like football.

Ronaldo’s skill and the story had increased significantly by his early teens. He signed with Sporting Portugal in 2001 after a stint at Nacional da liha da Madeira.

Ronaldo turned his head against Manchester, wowing even his opponents with his footwork and subtle skill, with a fantastic performance against Portugal. He felt like a few U.S. players asked their manager to sign the young youngster, as the squad eventually did.

Ronaldo didn’t deceive the football world: early in the 2004 FA Cup final, he gave a promise, scoring the team’s first three goals and aiding them to claim the championship. A five-year, £31 million agreement was struck in 2007 by Ronaldo.

A year later, when Ronaldo brought together one of the best seasons in history and established a franchise record for the goals that had been scored (42), he again justified his hefty pay. He earned his 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year award. Ronaldo has contributed in all to managing Manchester United in three of its top trophies.

Real Madrid

In 2009 the Real Madrid Spanish football club agreed to pay a record $131 million to Manchester United for signing Ronaldo. An amazing list of honorary individuals and awards was then compiled by Ronaldo. He received his fourth gold ballon prize in December 2016 as the year’s sports player to defeat Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona.

In addition to the prizes of individual UEFA and France Football magazine, Ronaldo’s 2016 victories included the EU championship, Champions League, and Club World Cup. In the year that followed, he demanded that his long-time rival, Messi, tie up a fifth Golden Balloon.

Ronaldo confirmed his concerns with the Juventus Team of the Italian Series A in Juli 2018 who, after giving the implication that his time with Real was about to end, had paid a $140 million fee to his former Spanish club.

With an open letter on the club’s website, Ronaldo paid respect to real fans and wrote: “These were the finest days of my life in Real Madrid and this city of Madrid. This club, the people, and the city, I’ve just felt immense gratitude. For the love and devotion that I have received, I can only thank all of them.”

The first season with Juventus was a success with most of Ronaldo’s measures. He scored 10 times in the first 14 matches and went to the Supercoppa Italiana Trophy for a single goal, winning against AC Milan. He was nominated the MVP of the League in May 2019 after leading his club to his seventh straight Series A title.

Portugal National Team

Though he was sidelined 25 minutes into the match after suffering a knee injury, Portugal won their first international trophy, the 1-0 championship title. The colleagues of Ronaldo said he mobilized them from the sidelines as team captain.

At the 2018 World Cup, Ronaldo started to blow home three goals in a draw against Spain, before adding another against Morocco to set a European record for his 85th global goal.

He was, however, scoreless in the knockout stage with a 2-1 loss to Uruguay, after which he rejected commenting on his future with the club.

Statue at the Madeira Airport

Emanuel Santos inaugurated a Ronaldo bronze bust at the airport in Madeira’s hometown of Ronaldo in mars 2017. In March 2017 he was self-tailed. The monument was ridiculed because of its menacing smile and seemingly unlike the topic, but Santos did not seem to comprehend its uprising.

The Bleacher Report commissioned Santos to create another sculpture by Ronaldo following the unfavorable attention. In March 2018 the latter gained accolades for a closer resemblance to the legendary soccer player, however, the author nevertheless defended his original effort.
